June 2018 Update

After a most informative meeting with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), the steering committee has decided that more focus is needed on developing a sustainable school model that will ensure the school’s survival over the longer term.

The next few months will focus on this task and on ensuring completion of the suite of policies required by the VRQA to adequately support our model and the responsibilities we have for the welfare of all children at Our Lady of Fatima School. The VRQA has encouraged us to open the school focusing on primary years initially, and then to expand into secondary years progressively. This steadier approach now aligns with the recent Linton Parish decision to lease the Linton presbytery to us for 5 years starting July 1st, 2018 and we now anticipate opening for primary students in 2020. This model will incorporate our plans to grow into secondary and the various campuses/locations and services such as bus runs that will feature as a result. This refinement will lead us by the grace of God to a stronger and more sustainable school equipping students to become saints.

This is a necessary and positive adjustment to our original plans and we look forward to confirming our final model mid 2019, and keeping you all informed along the way.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement.
